I love the slogan of News Cafe because it perfectly explains the atmosphere and ambiance of this great group of eateries.
Sandy Zoetmulder, owner of the Port Elizabeth restaurant, recently invited me to try out their new menu.
Sandy said, “Our head office keeps abreast of all the international food, service, décor and bar trends. Our menu would be just as home in New York or London as it would be in Port Elizabeth.”
NEWS CAFE’S MENU UPGRADE
So on warm summer afternoon I popped into the News Cafe at the Boardwalk Entertainment Centre on the Port Elizabeth beachfront. As always, the well trained, friendly staff had taken my drinks order in a jiff and shown me around the new items on the menu.
One of my favourite meals has been the Crispy Pork Bowl. In fact I have enjoyed all the News Cafe Bowls and was very pleased that the bowl concept had been added to the breakfast menu.
I ordered the new Creamy Curried Chicken Bowl. What makes the bowls so good is the freshness of the condiments and the excellence of the sauces. I look forward to trying out the Veggie and the Beef Noodle Bowls.
Also new are Lamb Riblets on the snack menu, Beetroot and Feta on the side menu and a Mint Apple and Smashed Avo on the Super Bowl menu.
