With its abundance of wildlife, meandering hiking and bike trails you really can embrace your wild side at Wildehondekloof Game Reserve. The private game reserve not only offers luxury accommodation, but an opportunity to have nature on your doorstep.
Located in the Klein Karoo, next to the Wynandsrivier, the reserve is a 50-minute drive from Oudtshoorn. Surrounded by the majestic Swartberg Mountains, the views are spectacular.
Wildehondekloof offers exclusive luxury accommodation and guided game tours where guests can spot wildlife such as Zebra, Eland, Kudu, Rheedbuck, Gemsbok, Red Hartebeeste, Wildebeest, Springbok and Nyala. The Mountain Rheedbuck is indigenous to the area and beautiful to behold in its natural habitat.
The previous owners bought the reserve in 1996 as a barren farm without any fencing, roads or infrastructure. Overtime, they built the magnificent Oudtshoorn Wildehondekloof Lodge and established the reserve, which became a popular destination for nature lovers. Current owners, Paula and Hendrik Potgieter, are carrying on with the Wildehondekloof dream and refining those rough edges. There are 8 luxurious rooms, all en-suite.
Wildehondekloof’s rooms have stunning views of the mountains and river, and are exquisitely decorated with contemporary interior design details, such as vintage leather sofas, antiques, fine art sculptures and cozy inside fireplaces.

The lodge’s guest lounge has a large, double-sided fireplace and is the perfect spot to sit back and relax with a glass of wine.
