The Course

San Lameer’s golf course was the first golfing estate developed in South Africa and is well-renowned for its beauty. Set within a conservation area, golfers can enjoy the abundance of wildlife in the area.

The golf course is enclosed by an oasis of wildlife, which includes 195 different bird species, impala, red, grey and blue duiker, reedbuck and bushbuck, as well as tropical fauna and flora.

The 18-hole championship golf course was designed by Peter Matkovich and Dale Hayes. It provides golfing enthusiasts with natural challenges, such as vast clearings, forests and wetlands.

One of the most prominent challenges of the golf course, aside from its varying gradients and difficulty, is to avoid getting distracted by the striking views and the waves of the Indian Ocean crashing beside you.
