Nestled in the Cradle of Humankind in the idyllic nature reserve of Mt Savannah you will find the luxurious Sibani Lodge. This picturesque accommodation offering has natural bush surroundings and is home to a wide variety of wildlife such as giraffe, red hartebeest, kudu, impala and zebra as well as a large variety of bird species and flora.

The Lodge is situated just 25 minutes from Lanseria International Airport and 45 minutes from OR Tambo International Airport. Secluded in the African wilderness, Sibani Lodge is a great placed to escape from the noisy city and enjoy the natural beauty of Africa.

Sibani Lodge can be found right in the middle of the Cradle of Humankind, which is one of eight World Heritage Sites in South Africa, and the only one in Gauteng. A hot-spot for tourists, this area has been recognised as the place from which all of humankind originated.

Accommodation at Sibani Lodge consists of the Main Lodge Suite and Double Rooms, Royal Cottages and the Tents. You can choose to enjoy a luxurious experience in the main lodge or stay in the cottages that are situated away from the lodge, or have an incredible glamping experience in their luxury tents.

The Main Lodge has a Master Bedroom and two Double Bedrooms that are adjacent to each other. The Master Bedroom consists of a King-sized bed, indoor and outdoor showers, a large bathtub, leather lounger, writing desk, beverage station and wrapping deck.

The adjacent Double Rooms share a large joint bathroom with a bath and shower, double beds, and a balcony with outdoor seating.

There are two Royal Cottages situated away from the Main Lodge that ensures total privacy. Each cottage has an open lounge area with an indoor fireplace, extended balcony, and spacious bedrooms with King-sized beds and en-suite bathrooms with a bath and shower that overlook the surrounding bush.

Four Luxury Tents are available for use at Sibani Lodge, you are also free to utilise the Boma. A tent can accommodate two to three people depending on the tent, while the Boma can accommodate two people.

The tents come with King-sized beds and are only a few kilometres away from the Main Lodge for your safety and security.

Dining is a true delight at Sibani Lodge, the staff will make sure that your food suites your dietary preference and that you enjoy excellent service during your stay. You can enjoy breakfast and dinner to your heart’s content.

Sibani Lodge also offers unique and luxurious wellness treatments for those wanting to relax and destress during their stay. They offer a variety of facials and massages which you can enjoy in your room.

There are a wide variety of activities to enjoy at Sibani Lodge that caters for the whole family. You can explore the game reserve on horseback or try out one of their mountain biking trails, or hone your targeting skills with some archery or clay pigeon shooting.

Sibani also offers pre-packed picnic baskets that you can take out and enjoy in the grassy plains with the whole family or for a romantic rendezvous.

To my mind a great restaurant offers three things – excellent service, great food and a wonderful ambiance. Of these, service is the most important.

No matter that the food is delicious and the setting delightful, poor service can ruin the occasion. However, great service combined with mediocre meal and a plane jane restaurant can still be a pleasant night out.

We’ve eaten in restaurants that are really dirty but with incredible food and couldn’t help but give a rave review. We’ve also hardly noticed what we ate because the setting was just amazing.
