There’s something special about State 5 Craft Coffee and I’m about to share it with you all. It’s really quite something and I am now officially hooked… it’s their signature Cold Brewed Coffee on Tap.
Cold coffee? I hear you say, and yes cold coffee is very, very special indeed, here’s what’s so special about it. The old adage of “all good things come to those who wait” couldn’t be closer to the truth in this instance.
The process is quite a thing. It involves steeping coarsely ground beans in room temperature water for up to 20 hours, but the result is simply magnificent!
Not only does it render a brew that’s less acidic and more refreshing, but it releases the essential oils of the bean, resulting in a deliciously chocolatey, more flavoursome end product that has 2-3 times the caffeine content of a normal cup of coffee.

The artisan bakery is a new addition to Greenside which I must add is rather amazing.
The products are made using non-GMO Stoneground flour sourced in Drakensburg which coupled with other quality ingredients and a bakers best friend, time, lead to scrumptious breads and pastries.
What is amazing is both aspects of the business utilise time to obtain a superior offering for its patrons.
Apart from the fresh from the oven Sourdough breads and lip-smacking pastries, be on the lookout for more sumptuous creations including tarts, cookies, quiches and moreish pies.
I really must comment on how amazing the bread is… it’s the real deal and I should have brought a loaf home with me. I guess I’ll have to go back soon!
