Excellent revue bar and restaurant at The Piano Bar, Cape Town

If you’re looking for a trendy live music bar and restaurant in Cape Town, then The Piano Bar located in the trendy De Waterkant is perfect.

This hip eatery and pub has an eclectic mix of New York, African and International flavours. Dark wooden floors, panelling and ceilings are reminiscent of Manhattan.

If you want to get to know the city of Cape Town then The Grey Hotel is the best place to go. This trendy new hot-spot of the Mother City has a cozy ambiance and cuddly rooms; you will feel totally at ease. The Hotel is a renovated 19th Century Victorian house, all rooms have been tastefully furnished and have their own unique details about them.

De Waterkant is sandwiched between the popular Bree Street and the famous Waterfront and is about as central to Cape Town’s night life as you can get.

Menu and Specials

The menu is simple yet delicious and our tapas and platters are ideal for sharing.

If you’re looking for something more substantial then try the special menu that is carefully selected and put together by Chef Mxolisi Ndiweni.

Breakfast is served daily from 7h00am till 12h00pm.

Happy Hour is daily 16h00 till 18h00 on selected beverages and food.

Other specials include Monday ‘Date Night’ that offers four selected tapas off the menu and a bottle of our house red or white wine for just R300. This great deal is available all day!

Thirsty Thursday’s offers half price on selected cocktails from 19h30 till 22h30 and the very popular Sunday special offers a crisp of glass Bubbles for R40 all day long.

The Piano Bar has an interesting line-up of musicians that is constantly changing to keep guest entertained. They do not only hire professional artist and bands. To my mind a great restaurant offers three things – excellent service, great food and a wonderful ambiance. Of these, service is the most important.

No matter that the food is delicious and the setting delightful, poor service can ruin the occasion. However, great service combined with mediocre meal and a plane jane restaurant can still be a pleasant night out.

We’ve eaten in restaurants that are really dirty but with incredible food and couldn’t help but give a rave review. We’ve also hardly noticed what we ate because the setting was just amazing.
