For breakfast, guests can serve themselves under the sunny conservatory. Choose from various meats and cheeses as well as a variety of fresh fruits, pastries and hot eggs.

Light lunches can be served in the Conservatory dining room or in the luxurious gardens that overlook the Outeniqua Mountains.

High Teas can be enjoyed in the outdoor boma, with its roaring fireplace and comfortable couches; guests can enjoy great company while sipping a glass of bubbly as the sun sets – absolutely amazing!

When dinner time comes around, guests can choose between two different menu options. For a fine dining experience, guests can enjoy a fanciful meal at the Sage at Hunter’s, while a lighter bistro-style meal option will be served in the Conservatory.

To my mind a great restaurant offers three things – excellent service, great food and a wonderful ambiance. Of these, service is the most important.

No matter that the food is delicious and the setting delightful, poor service can ruin the occasion. However, great service combined with mediocre meal and a plane jane restaurant can still be a pleasant night out.

We’ve eaten in restaurants that are really dirty but with incredible food and couldn’t help but give a rave review. We’ve also hardly noticed what we ate because the setting was just amazing.
